Step 1

Gather the ingredients and equipment.

Step 2

Take a lowball glass and fill it with ice cubes. This will chill the glass and keep your drink cold.

Using a jigger or measuring tool, pour 1.5 oz (about one shot) of whiskey or bourbon into the cocktail shaker. This will be the base spirit of your drink.

Measure and pour 1 oz of cherry tart syrup into the cocktail shaker with the whiskey or bourbon.

Securely place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake it vigorously for about 10 seconds.
